The Components of Fitness |
Fitness and Exercise Go Hand in Hand
Fitness and exercise go hand in hand--you can’t have one without the other. There are many different components to fitness, and exercise is one of the key components. Some of the other components include nutrition, overall health, and strength.
-
Nutrition – It is not possible to achieve a high level of fitness without proper nutritional intake. Nutrition needs to be achieved through diet although many people take supplements in order to help their dietary intake and improve their level of fitness.
-
Overall Health – Your overall level of health is very important in determining your fitness level. If you have an injury you may be limited in your ability to exercise or you may be limited physically in another way that impacts your level of fitness.
-
Strength – If you haven’t worked out for a length of time the strength you possess will be less than you had previously achieved. You can build strength through repetition whether you are attempting to build lean muscle for endurance or bulk muscle for activities such as weight lifting or body building.
-
Exercise – Proper exercise will improve a person’s level of fitness. The type of exercise you participate in depends on your fitness goals. If you are training for a triathlon you will employ different exercises than if you are seeking to compete in a body building competition.
No matter what level of fitness you are hoping to achieve in your life, you will need to ensure you have all the components in place. By eating healthy and having quality nutrition you can ensure your body has the fuel it needs. Keeping in good overall health and staying injury free will help you to keep on your path to optimal fitness.
A quality exercise program will also help you to build the strength and endurance to achieve your fitness goals, including helping to make you feel good not only about your fitness, but about yourself.
