it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity." -John F. Kennedy
| There Are Many Different Ways to Stay In Shape |
You Just Need To Be DeterminedEveryone is busy in the information age--the 21st century. We talk and text while we drive, read emails when we wait in line, and are obsessed with efficiency and accomplishment. It is this drive for efficiency and accomplishment we need to tap into and apply to our exercise programs. Getting started is always the most difficult part although as we mentioned lacing up running shoes really isn’t that tough. Many people find joining a gym is a great motivator to get them exercising. There are numerous local, regional, and national chain health clubs that have excellent facilities for exercising and working out. Most communities have a YMCA which is a great way to involve everyone in the family at the same time which can help make it easier to find the time. Whether you join a club or just lace up your shoes, the key is to find something you like and are likely to keep doing because you like it. Another key idea can be to have a goal. Find a fun run or other fitness event that is geared around beginners and sign up far enough in advance to get yourself into shape before it starts. Now you are bought in, you have a reason to train. Once you have completed your fun event and you are in shape, look for the next thing you can set as your goal to keep you training and staying in good physical shape. The key is motivation and determination, if you can keep that focus you will stay in shape.
