"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body,
it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity." -John F. Kennedy

There are So Many Diets

Which Diet Works Best?

There are numerous fad diets out there that guarantee that their way will help you lose weight, and keep it off.   Those marketing techniques work great for people who are desperate to lose weight or get into shape really fast without much work.  Unfortunately, losing weight and getting into shape takes determination and hard work.  There are some guaranteed ways for you to lose weight and keep it off without going on a "diet".

Reduce the amount of calories you intake.  The amount of calories you eat should be less than the amount of calories you burn off with your daily activities.  If you can do this, then you will lose weight.

Don't be impulsive.  Buying into those fad diets that guarantee that you'll lose weight and keep it off without having to work at it is a gimmick-plain and simple-they DON'T WORK.

Change your eating habits.  You don't have to diet to lose weight-besides engaging in routine exercise, you just need to adjust your eating habits.  By preparing more balanced meals, and eating regularly, will help you to eat properly while obtaining the vitamins and minerals that are required for healthy living.

Gradually change your eating habits.  Completely changing your eating habits in one day will most likely result in you reverting back to your old eating habits-start by purging the junk from your cupboards and making lists when grocery shopping (and sticking to them).

Set realistic goals.  When you are setting goals for how much weight you want to lose and the timeframe for accomplishing your goals, make the goals realistic.  It is not realistic to say that you want to shed 50 pounds in two weeks-start by writing down your goals and how much time you will devote to exercise-this will help you to attain your goals.

By creating a balanced meal plan, engaging in regular exercise and establishing realistic goals, you should be able to be successful in your own self-made "diet" plan.
