Yoga balls allow for many unique exercises that target muscles like no other piece of equipment can. They are simple to use and are indispensible. When not being used for yoga, they can also be double as a chair to help with proper posture.

Types of Balls

When buying a yoga ball, there are several factors to consider:


Pumps
Buying a ball that includes a pump is a wise choice. The valve is sure to fit and is designed specifically for the product. A two-way pump is convenient because it allows both filling and deflating of the ball. If you've ever tried deflating a large air-filled object, you'll know how frustrating it can be to get all the air out.

 

Size
There are several sizes of balls available. Choosing the right size for your height is important. Many exercises require having a proper sized ball in order to have the proper body positioning. There are generally three sizes: 22, 26, or 30 inches. If you are average height, a 26 inch ball is ideal. If you are shorter, a 22 inch ball may work better. If you are taller than average, a 30 inch ball may fit the bill.
